Branding CogX 2020, festival of Ai and Breakthrough technology.

Background info

CogX is an award-winning festival with its roots in artificial intelligence. In 2019 CogX took place in King’s Cross area of London and set the blueprint for the future CogX festivals.
Each stage represented one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. During the event, tech companies, activists, academics and government representatives discussed the impact of technology on the future world and discussed the next steps that are necessary for the safe implementation of the breakthrough technology.

The fourth edition, June 8th to 10th 2020, saw over 40,000 participants including 600+ speakers across 18 topic stages and 100+ side events. The main theme, “How do we get the next 10 years right?” aimed to move the climate emergency conversation forward with concrete actions and to inspire current and future generations of leaders.

Challenge

In 2020 we were aiming at hosting the physical event, when suddenly COVID-19 pandemic happened. Our CEO made a decision to still host the event of the same scale, but to do so virtually. So we pivoted into a Virtual CogX.
We have inherited the CogX logo and the typeface.
So we used it as a foundation of our work.
18 stages of the festival were used as a framework both for the content and the design strategies.

Responsibilities

→ We have started with product and brand discovery workshops.
→ We then have worked on the concept for the virtual platform and user experience throughout the event.
→ We then defined the brand strategy and the vision.
→ We have mapped out the CX and started working on the production of the digital collateral for numerous funnels (Pre, during, post the actual event).
→ We have worked with multiple agencies on the production of the platform, the live-streaming software and the marketing promotion of the event.

Rebranding concept for the new CogX community platform.

After the CogX 2020 Festival, CogX has decided to build a platform to host their community virtually. The main goal of the platform was to connect people around the important topics and missions.

I have worked on the brand strategy, new brand identity, UX and UI concepts for the platform.

The strategy was to leverage CogX’s main USP - amazing community around the existing event.
However in 2020-2021, the concept for the new CogX platform took a different visual and UX direction.
